Mizzou point guard hits the transfer portal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
For a second-straight day, a Mizzou women's basketball player made the decision to look for a new collegiate home. On Wednesday, a team spokesperson confirmed that Tiger point guard De'Myla Brown has entered the transfer portal.
Brown will look for her sixth program to play in her seventh season of college basketball in the 2025-26 campaign. She began her career at Western Kentucky and then made stops at Chipola College, Illinois and Houston, before landing in Columbia. She was recruited to the program by former head coach Robin Pingeton, who stepped away from the team following the 2024-25 season.
Due to NCAA transfer guidelines, Brown only actually played for one of the two years she was apart of the MU program. In her second season as a Tiger, she averaged 5.4 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists across appearances in 29 games The Arkansas-native's best outing came against Tennessee, when she scored a season-high 18 points, while also adding on three rebounds and two steals.
Brown is the second player in two days, who had significant minutes on the court, to hit the transfer portal. On Tuesday, former Mizzou guard Ashton Judd decided to transfer, as well.
In total, head coach Kellie Harper has lost five players to the portal in the coaching transition, so far. However, Brown and Judd, by far, had the most impact on the team in the 2024-25 season, of all the players who have transferred. You can find the full list of transfers below.
