Mizzou WBB head coach Kellie Harper makes first transfer portal addition

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Kellie Harper dipped into the transfer portal for the first as the leader of Mizzou women's basketball, on Tuesday evening, as she picked up a commitment from a former Kentucky guard.
St. Louis native Saniah Tyler is the first player to commit to Coach Harper out of the transfer portal, after she spent three seasons with the Wildcats in Lexington.
The UK Athletics website said that Tyler was, "a floor leader in the truest sense that is expected to be a team leader … During recruitment process, coaches raved about her balanced game of knowing when to create for herself or look for her teammates … Coaches also talked about her competitive spirit and toughness, especially on the defensive end of the floor."
The 5-foot-6 guard averaged 2.3 points, 1. 2 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 12.3 minutes per game in the 2024-25 campaign. However, she saw a lot more production in her sophomore season, where she averaged 10.2 points per game and 1.8 rebounds in 26.8 minutes. Her time on the court took a bit of a dip with a coaching change in Lexington, when the Wildcats brought on current head coach Kenny Brooks.
Tyler graduated from Incarnate Word in St. Louis, where she was a four-star recruit and was ranked the No. 22 point guard in the nation by ESPN. In her time with the Red Knights, she was named the All-Metro Player of the Year by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, led her team to two state championships and an 8504 record, while averaging 12.2 points per game as a senior.
