Mizzou guard Ashton Judd enters the transfer portal
COLUMBA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou women's basketball coach Kellie Harper officially has her first significant piece of transfer portal news, as a team spokesperson confirmed to ABC 17 that guard Ashton Judd has entered the transfer portal.
She is the fourth player from the 2024-25 roster to hit the portal, but by far the one that made the biggest impact on the Tigers in her time in Columbia. After three years in the black and gold, she will look for her second collegiate home.
The 6-foot-1 junior's decision comes after former head coach Robin Pingeton decided to step away from the program, following the 2024-25 campaign.
Judd was an impact player for Mizzou, from the day she stepped on campus. In her junior season, the West Plains native ranked 24th in scoring in the Southeastern Conference, averaging 11.6 points per game. She contributed on both sides of the court, though, as she averaged 5.0 rebounds per game, as well.
In her true freshman season, she was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team, after averaging 7.4 points per game in her debut college season. Although the results on the court weren't always what MU wanted, Judd stayed consistent and scored her 1,000th career point this past season.
She came to Columbia, after leading West Plains to a Class 5 state Championship in her senior year, a season where she was named the Missouri Class 5 Player of the Year. She set program records for most single-game points, rebounds and assists for the Zizzers.
