St. Louis Blues win 12th-straight game to set new franchise record

KMIZ

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)

For the first time in the franchise's 57 year history, the Blues won their 12th-straight game, on Saturday night. St. Louis topped the Colorado Avalanche 5-4 in a win for the history books at the Enterprise Center.

As of now, head coach Jim Montomgery and his crew hold the longest winning streak in the National Hockey League this season.

The previous club record of 11-straight wins was set from Jan. 23 to Feb. 19 of 2019. That was the same season that the Blues captured the club's first-ever Stanley Cup win.

It was a fitting and gritty way for St. Louis to grab that record-breaking win. After leading by four in the second period, courtesy of goals from Zack Bolduc, Jake Neighbours and Pavel Buchnevich, the Blues allowed the Avalanche to climb back into the game and give fans a good scare.

Colorado scored three unanswered goals in the second and third periods to make it a one-goal game. However, an empty net goal from Robert Thomas in the third gave St. Louis just enough breathing room for its 12th-straight mark in the win column.

Bolduc led the scoring charge for the Note, on Saturday, as scored a team-high two goals

Up next - the Blues will look to extend the winning streak to 13 with a road trip to Winnipeg. St. Louis will face the Jets on Monday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. CT.
