Mizzou WBB’s Kellie Harper makes first addition to coaching staff

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou women's basketball coach Kellie Harper's staff is beginning to take shape.
On Tuesday, the new leader of Tiger women's hoops made the first addition to her coaching staff, with the hiring of former Florida Atlantic University (FAU) head coach Jennifer Sullivan as an assistant coach. It will be far from the first time that the pair has worked together, though. Sullivan served as an assistant on Harper's staff at both Tennessee and Missouri State.
"I am very thankful to Kellie for giving me this incredible opportunity to rejoin her on the sidelines," Sullivan said in a press release. "Missouri women's basketball is an elite program, and I am excited to build on their past success and win championships."
Sullivan served as FAU's head coach from 2021-2025. In that span, she went 34-58 overall, but did manufacture some big moments for a program that was looking to make a turn-around.
In her debut season, which came fresh off of a five-win campaign the year prior, the Owls earned two wins over NCAA Tournament teams. Sullivan also managed to develop the program's first-ever Conference USA Freshman of the Year honoree.
She went to Boca Raton, after working with Harper at Tennessee for two seasons. In those couple of years, she and Harper led the Volunteers of a 38-18 overall record and a 19-10 mark in Southeastern Conference action. The group also made an SEC Tournament Semifinal appearance for the first time since 2016, defeated four ranked opponents and earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
"I am thrilled to announce the addition of Jennifer to our staff here at Mizzou," Harper said in a press release. "She will be a valuable asset to our players on the court for games and practices. She is a proven recruiter and is knowledgeable in the state and region. She is a great person who will reflect the winning values of our university."
Prior to her time in Knoxville, Coach Sullivan spent a season at Ohio State, as well. She also worked on Harper's staff at Missouri State.
