COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No. 23 Mizzou wrestling has now won two-straight duals at home, following a 21-15 win over Arizona State at the Hearnes Center on Wednesday night. It was four bonus-point victories that helped lift head coach Brian Smith and company to that win over the Sun Devils.

With the second-straight win, MU improved to 4-7 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 action.

The action started off with a bang, as true freshman Gage Walker nearly wrestled his way to an upset against the reigning national champion at 125. However, Arizona State's Richard Figueroa hung tough and got the 5-4 decision win to get the Sun Devils on the board first.

Mizzou followed up that loss with victories in three of the next four bouts.

Redshirt freshman Kade Moore got an upset under his belt, with a win by major decision over No. 23 Julian Chlebove at 133 pounds. Then, No. 15 Josh Edmond followed that up with a major decision win of his own at 141.

Arizona State did pick up a win over Zeke Seltzer at 149, but, once again, the Tigers followed a loss with a couple more victories.

Redshirt sophomore Cam Steed came out of the intermission and gave Mizzou a comfortable lead over Arizona State with a win by injury default, which gave the Tigers a 17-6 lead. Right after that, redshirt junior Joel Mylin came up with the fourth bonus-point victory of the night, with a commanding 11-1 major decision win at 174 pounds.

The Sun Devils did manage to close out the dual with three-straight wins, but to no avail.
