Four Kansas City Chiefs players earn AP All-Pro nods
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Ahead of the start of postseason play, four members of the Kansas City Chiefs received Associated Press All-Pro recognition, on Friday.
Offensive guard Joe Thuney, center Creed Humphrey and defensive tackle Chris Jones were each selected for AP First-Team All-Pro honors. Meanwhile, cornerback Trent McDuffie was a Second-Team selection.
For Thuney, it is the second-straight year that he's earned First-Team honors. In 2024, he ranked second among all guards in the league in pass blocking, according to Pro Football Focus. Thuney also showed some versatility in his play on the line towards the year, as he lined up at left tackle to end the regular season. He didn't allow a single sack in three starts at left tackle in 2024.
Humphrey earned his first-career All-Pro honors, after leading all centers in offensive snaps with 1,112 this season. Pro Football Focus said that he's been the league's best overall and pass-blocking center through 2024, as well.
The veteran center has earned Pro Bowl recognition before, but now can add AP All-Pro to his list of accolades.
Jones has grown familiar to landing on the All-Pro list. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound defensive tackle is a First-Team selection for the third-straight season, after ranking sixth in the NFL in pressures in 2024, with 74. In seven of his 15 games this season, Jones logged at least six pressures.
Entering postseason play, Jones has recorded 37 total tackles, five sacks and a forced fumble.
It's the second time in McDuffie's career that he's landed on an All-Pro list. In 2023, he was First-Team selection, but earned a Second-Team nod in 2024.
The cornerback has been productive in his junior season in the league. He's seventh on the team in total tackles to end the regular season with 59 on the year. McDuffie also has two interception, a half sack, a forced fumble and 13 passes defended.
Up next - KC's All-Pro selections and the rest of the team will look to make NFL history. The Chiefs earned a first-round bye in the playoffs, thanks to capturing the AFC's No. 1 seed. However, the team will get back into action in the Divisional Round, as they look to be the first team to ever three-peat in the Super Bowl in NFL history.
