Mizzou pitcher earns first-career preseason honor ahead of 2025 campaign
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou pitcher Cierra Harrison is already grabbing the eyes of the college softball world and the 2025 campaign hasn't even started yet.
On Monday, the Lee's Summit native was named to Softball America's Preseason Top-100 player list, coming in at No. 87 in the nation. The preseason honor marks the first of her career.
Harrison made a quick impact in her first two years in Columbia, as she's compiled a 22-5 overall record with six complete games, four shutouts and a no-hitter against Texas A&M-Commerce on Feb. 16 of 2024.
The junior will be stepping into an even bigger role for head coach Larissa Anderson in 2025, with the graduation of star pitcher Laurin Krings, following the 2024 campaign. In her sophomore season, Harrison ended up with a 14-3 mark in the circle with a 2.05 ERA over 106.0 innings with 87 strikeouts.
Next up - Harrison and the Tigers will open up the 2025 season at the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Fla. The action is set to begin on Feb. 7 at the Eddie C. Moore Complex against both Marshall and Northwestern.
