Mizzou women cruise past Jackson State in final non-conference meeting of the season
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou women's basketball team wrapped up the non-conference slate with a dominant 90-51 win over Jackson State on Sunday afternoon inside Mizzou Arena.
Five of head coach Robin Pingeton's players got into double-digit scoring in the victory over the other Tigers, as sophomore guard Grace Slaughter led the charge with 22 points. That marked her fourth game with at last 20 points through the 2024-25 campaign.
Senior forward Laniah Randle also got into the double-figures club with 11 points, along with seven rebounds, four assits, four steals and a block on Sunday. Those 11 points ld her to 1,000 career points, as well.
It felt like it was a big day for every Tiger out there. Graduate forward Angelique Ngalakulondi notched her 10th career double-double and the first of the season. She tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds in 21 minutes of action, while tying a career-high four blocks.
With the win, Mizzou wrapped up the non-conference slate with an 11-4 overall record.
Up next - the Tigers will open up at SEC play at 6 p.m. on Thursday against No. 2 South Carolina.
