Hallsville basketball coach on sidelines again after being on administrative leave
MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Hallsville boys basketball coach Brandon Crites was seen on the sidelines again Friday night after being on administrative leave for several weeks.
The Indians were victorious 73-47 over South Shelby in Crites' return on Friday night at Moberly Area Community College.
Crites was placed on administrative leave on Dec. 2 during an investigation from an external agency, a district spokesperson told ABC 17 News earlier this month. Several law enforcement agencies have told ABC 17 News since Dec. 10 that they were not investigating Crites.
Crites – who is not a teacher in the Hallsville school district -- had initially been removed from his coaching duties on Nov. 25 and reinstated two days later before his recent stint on leave.
Parents and community members had demanded for Crites to be reinstated at a Dec. 18 Hallsville Board of Education meeting.
ABC 17 News reached out to the Hallsville School District earlier this week.
A school official at the game provided a statement to ABC 17 News.
“After a thorough investigation conducted by an external agency, the allegations against Brandon Crites have been determined to be unsubstantiated and he will be immediately welcomed back as the head boys basketball coach at Hallsville.”
