Mizzou running back enters transfer portal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
After one season in Columbia, true freshman running back Kewan Lacy became the eighth Tiger, since the 2024 regular season ended, to enter the transfer portal.
On3 first reported the news, which was then reposted by Lacy on his Instagram. He will have three years of eligibility remaining for his next school.
The Texas-native burned up his redshirt in his debut season, getting into six games. He ended his first collegiate campaign with 104 yards on 23 carries, after he came to Columbia as a four-star recruit out of high school
Lacy's departure will leave Mizzou with two returners, Jamal Roberts and Tavorus Jones, in the running back room. Standouts Nate Noel and Marcus Carroll, who took bulk of the work load throughout 2024, will be out of eligibility after the Music City Bowl.
Head coach Eli Drinkwitz is bringing in two more running backs in the incoming freshman class, as well, as both four-star Marquise Davis and three-star Brendan Haygood are set to come to Columbia. However, Coach Drink may even be adding another name to that list. Multiple national reports said that Army running back Kanye Udoh is set for a visit with MU, after entering the transfer portal.
