After Kansas City secured win No. 13 on the season with a 21-7 victory over Cleveland on Sunday, fans skipped right over the celebration and went straight to concern.

After throwing two touchdowns, quarterback Patrick Mahomes exited the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury, as he got rolled up while being tackled. As a result, backup quarterback Carson Wentz finished the little more than five minutes that remained in the game against the Browns, while Mahomes watched it all play out on the sideline.

After the game, the star QB did get checked out by medical staff. The good news is that head coach Andy Reid said in his postgame press conference that the ankle is not broken, but Mahomes is now considered week-to-week with that injury, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, following a 19-of-38 for 159-yard outing.

Mahomes threw touchdowns to wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and tight end Noah Gray in the 14-point win, but the real star of the game was defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's unit.

The Chiefs defense forced six takeaways, on Sunday, which is the franchise's mosts since Sept. 25, 2016. It felt like every defensive standout got in on the action, too. Safeties Jaden Hicks and Bryan Cook, linebacker Nick Bolton and cornerback Trent McDuffie all came down with an interception in the win, while Cleveland also fumbled the ball two times.

Sunday's win marks the first time since the win over San Fransisco on Oct. 20 that Coach Reid and company have won a game by more than one touchdown.

Up next - Kansas City will have a quick turnaround, as the Houston Texans will be in town on Saturday, Dec. 21. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m.
