COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Lifted by big outings from guards Grace Slaughter and Nyah Wilson, the Mizzou women's basketball team handled business against Little Rock on Friday morning, notching a 78-49 win.

Head coach Robin Pingeton had a different star in each half, as far as scoring was concerned.

In the opening quarter Slaughter, a Grain Valley alum, totaled 14 points, as she went 6-for-10 from the field and 2-for-2 from 3-point range in the first 30 minutes of action. Then, after halftime, Wilson took the scoring, as she had 15 second half points going 6-for-8 from the field and 2-for-3 from 3-point range. The duo ended up tying for the team-high 19 points.

The Tigers out-played Little Rock in just about every statistical category, on Friday.

Mizzou out-shot the Trojans by a margin of 16 percent from the field and 25 percent from beyond the arc. MU thoroughly out-rebounded Little Rock, as well, 45 to 29.

Up next - Mizzou will hit the road for the Emerald Coast Classic out in Destin, Fla. The Tigers will meet Syracuse first in that tournament on Monday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m.
