Mizzou routs Pacific in return to action

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

After a slow start in the first half, the Mizzou men's basketball team picked up the pace and thoroughly dominated Pacific in a 91-56 win on Friday night.

You can watch the full postgame press conference with head coach Dennis Gates, guard Caleb Grill and center Josh Gray in the video player below.

The Tigers of Pacific got out to a 7-2 lead to start the game, but the three-ball started falling for MU, as guard Caleb Grill hit five in just the first half alone. He led the scoring charge in that first half comeback with 19 points in the first 20 minutes. Grill ended the game with the team-high 25 points.

Two other Mizzou players also got into double-digit scoring. Guard Tamar Bates ended the day with 11 points and forward Trent Pierce had 10.

It was a solid shooting night for head coach Dennis Gates' team, as the unit finished shooting about 49 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range.

Up next - Mizzou will host Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday at 4 p.m.
