Rock Bridge softball records second place finish in Class 5 tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Rock Bridge softball team finished the 2024 season as the second place team in Class 5 action, following a 3-0 loss to Lafayette Wildwood in the state championship game, on Friday.

The Bruins and the Lancers were locked in a stalemate throughout the entire game, as two standout pitchers went head-to-head. Rock Bridge's Addie Morris and Lafayette's Abby Carr kept the game scoreless through all seven innings.

It did take extras, but Riley Mulligan lifted up a three-run, walk-off home run in the eighth inning to capture a state title for Lafayette.

The Bruins finish the season 32-7, overall.
