Mizzou’s Brady Cook named Collegiate Man of the Year Semifinalist
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook is one of 20 semifinalists for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year award. The eighth-annual honor is given to a player that demonstrates leadership by showing courage, integrity and sportsmanship on and off the field.
The St. Louis native, a three-time team captain, has played in 41 games for the Tigers, so far, starting in 34 of those outings. Overall, he's completed about 65 percent of his passes for more than 8,000 yards and 45 touchdowns. He's ran the ball 323 times for more than 1,100 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Cook ranks second all-time on Mizzou's chart for career passing efficiency, third in 200-yard passing games with 24, fourth in passing yards and fifth all-time in touchdowns.
Tiger fans have seen what he can do on the field, but may not know the success he's found in the classroom. Cook is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of MU's College of Business and has earned two degrees. He was the 2023 SEC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was tabbed a semifinal for the William V. Campbell Trophy this season, which is given to a player with the best combination of academics, community service and on-the-field performance.
Mizzou also said that in his free time, Cook volunteers his time to Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministry, Habitat for Humanity and Andrew's Hugs Foundation. He has also made several visits to Columbia Public Schools and Boone Children's Hospital.
