Mizzou moves up two spots in latest AP Poll, following bounce back win

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou football team jumped up two spots in the latest AP Poll, following the team's 42-point rout of UMass on Saturday. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz and company are now back in the Top-20, ranked as the No. 19 team in the nation.

The Tigers have moved up and down in the rankings quite a bit, as of late, following a crushing defeat in College Station on Saturday, Oct. 5. After falling to the Aggies by 31 points, MU took at 12-spot tumble in the Top-25, landing at No. 21 for Week 7 action. It was the first time that the Tigers had been placed outside of the Top-11 teams in all of 2024.

However, Mizzou's burst of offense and near-shutout effort against the Minutemen, on Saturday, was enough to move them back up a couple of spots.

There are eight SEC teams included in the Top-25 teams in the nation. You can find a full look at the rankings for Week 8 below.

Mizzou will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19 for homecoming, as the Tigers will host Auburn at 11 a.m.
