Mizzou football jumps to No. 6 in latest AP Poll
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team jumped up three spots in the AP Top-25, following Saturday night's shutout win over Buffalo at Faurot Field.
It's the second-straight week that head coach Eli Drinkwitz and company have jumped up in the AP Poll, as the Southeastern Conference claimed six of the top seven spots in the country.
The No. 6 Tigers have had a dominant start to the season on defense. First-year defensive coordinator Corey Batoon's unit has pitched two-straight shutouts to start the year, which is the first time an MU team has done that since 1935. Mizzou is also the first FBS team since 2019 to begin the season with two shutouts.
Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Kirby Moore's guys have averaged about 46 points in two games.
In week three, Coach Drink and his team will have a ranked matchup in Columbia. Boston College cracked the Top-25, after upsetting then-No. 10 Florida State in week one and remaining undefeated with a shutout win over Duquesne in week two.
The No. 24 Boston College Eagles will face off against the No. 6 Tigers at 11:45 a.m. at Faurot Field on Saturday, Sept. 14.
