The St. Louis Cardinals appear to have flamed out.

After a middle stretch that saw them keep pace with the NL Central-leading Brewers, the Cardinals have reverted to their old, losing ways. They're now below .500 again and entered play 11 games back of the Brewers on Tuesday.

The Cards are now five games back in the wild card race, making a postseason berth possible but difficult.
