Mizzou wide receiver arrested for failure to appear in court
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. was arrested at 12:57 p.m. in Columbia on Tuesday afternoon for failure to appear in court, according to Boone County records. He was released after paying a $10 bond.
Wease Jr. was supposed to appear in court in March, after he got cited for not wearing his seatbelt in Lexington, Mo. back in Feb. He did not appear for that court date, so a warrant was issued for his arrest in May.
The Tiger team captain is entering his second season playing in Columbia, after transferring in from Oklahoma ahead of the 2023 campaign. He started in all 13 games in his debut season in the black and gold, snagging 49 receptions for 682 yards and six touchdowns, averaging about 13.9 yards per catch. Wease Jr. was a critical part of MU's run to the best season head coach Eli Drinkwitz has had in his time in Columbia.
The wide receiver's arrest comes just weeks after one of his teammates was arrested for failure to appear in court in July.
Tiger safety Phillip Roche was arrested for failure to appear in court, after speeding infractions more than 30 miles per hour over the speed limit.
