Mizzou soccer picked to finish last in the SEC in preseason coaches poll
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
In the new 16-team league, Mizzou soccer was projected to finish last in the Southeastern Conference's preseason coaches poll, on Tuesday.
The projections comes after the Tigers finished the 2023 campaign with a 5-9-3 overall record and a 1-8-1 mark in SEC action. Despite the win-loss column, head coach Stefanie Golan and company did play in a lot of close, one-score games that season. In fact, all eight of the conference loses came by just one score.
The program will look to turn the corner in year four under Coach Golan and turn those close losses into close wins.
SEC coaches also project that Arkansas is the favorite to win the 2024 SEC Women's Soccer title. Texas, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama round out the top five of the league.
