Mizzou football ranked in top-15 in preseason coaches poll
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The college football world has top-15 expectations for Mizzou headed into the 2024 season. On Monday, the USA Today Coaches' preseason poll ranked the Tigers as the No. 11 team in the land.
The top-15 projection comes after head coach Eli Drinkwitz and company went 11-2 in 2023 and beat Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. It was the best season of the Drinkwitz era in Columbia and the program's fourth appearance in the Cotton Bowl, but the first since 2014.
The only other Southeastern Conference teams ranked above head coach Eli Drinkwitz and company in the preseason poll are Georgia (No. 1), Texas (No. 4), Alabama (No. 5) and Ole Miss (No. 6).
The last time Mizzou appeared in the USA Today preseason poll was in 2015 when the program was projected as the No. 15 team.
