LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KMIZ)

Kansas City lost its second-straight series, on Sunday afternoon, with a 3-0 loss in the finale against the Dodgers, as the game was highlighted by two home runs from L.A. star Shohei Ohtani.

The outing marked Ohtani's second two-homer game of 2024. He hit one in the third inning and then another in the sixth. The final run of the afternoon was another home run off the bat of Freddy Freeman.

The Dodgers' three-homer outing at the plate was complimented by a standout performance from pitcher Tyler Glasnow, who pitched seven innings of three-hit baseball. In fact, three hits was all KC managed in nine innings of work out at Dodger Stadium.

On the flip side, pitcher Brady Singer is charged with the loss for the Royals, dropping him to 4-4 in 2024. He threw for six innings and allowed all three of those home runs on five hits, while striking out four batters.

Skipper Matt Quatraro and company are now 41-32 overall.

Up next - Kansas City will stay out on the west coast, as the Royals will play a visit to Oakland. First pitch in the series between KC and the Athletics will be at 8:40 p.m. CT on Tuesday, June 18.
