Mizzou men’s basketball completes 2024-25 transfer class

The Mizzou men's basketball team made one last portal addition official on Monday afternoon. With the signing of former South Carolina center Josh Gray, MU's 2024-25 transfer class is now complete.
Head coach Dennis Gates has the No. 12 transfer class in the country, which compliments the No. 5 freshman class, as well.
Gray is the fifth offseason transfer that Coach Gates picked up during the spring transfer window. He will join Duke transfer Mark Mitchell, UT Martin transfer Jacob Crews, Iowa transfer Tony Perkins and Northern Kentucky transfer Marques Warrick on the Tiger roster next season.
Gray, a 7-foot, 265-pound center, spent three seasons at South Carolina, where he led the team with 6.3 rebounds per game in his 2022-23 campaign. He tallied 375 total rebounds in his time as a Gamecock.
“Josh is the final piece of the puzzle of our recruiting class and we’re excited to have him join the Mizzou family,” Gates said in a press release. “With our last opening, we sought out a player with a physical presence who can provide rim protection. Not only is Josh capable of filling that role, but with his four years of SEC experience, he has proven to be a top rebounder in this league. He has great size and is a prototypical SEC big that will complement our roster perfectly in 2024-25.”
Gray first started his collegiate career at LSU, before transferring to South Carolina. Over the course of his career, he has totaled 319 points, 387 rebounds and 63 blocks, while shooting 52.2 percent from the field in 98 career games.
He's ranked as high as 11th in the SEC in rebounds per game, sixth in offense rebounds and 13th in blocks. Gray was also third national with an offensive rebound rate of 18.0 percent during the 2022-23 season.
