Mizzou baseball run-rules Lindenwood in final midweek game

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team ended midweek action in the win column on Tuesday night. The Tigers routed Lindenwood 13-1, which completed the regular season sweep over the Lions.

The scoring got started early for MU, as Justin Colon picked up an RBI single in the first inning to plate Danny Corona and give his team a one-run lead. The bats then fell quiet until the fourth inning.

A nine-run fourth inning was all started with a leadoff solo home run from Jackson Beaman. That apparently brought all the juice for the rest of the Tiger lineup. From there, Brock Daniels, Jackson Lovich, Danny Corona and Colon all registered RBIs. However, the inning was capped off with a three-run homer from Matt Garcia to give Mizzou a nine-run lead.

First year skipper Kerrick Jackson's team plated three runs in the sixth inning, as well, to complete the run rule over the Lions.

Kaden Jacobi earned the win on the hills for the Tigers, after he came in in relief for starter Javyn Pimental. Jacobi tossed for five innings and allowed Lindenwood's lone run on three hits. He is now 1-0 on the season.

Up next - Mizzou will host No. 14 South Carolina for a three-game series at Taylor Stadium. Game one will be on Friday, May 3 with first pitch coming in at 6 p.m.
