Mizzou baseball routs UT Martin in game one of a two-game set
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The bats were on fire for Mizzou baseball in the opening win against UT Martin on Tuesday night. The Tigers routed the Redhawks 13-3 to claim game one of the two-game set.
St. Louis-native Brock Daniels led the attack at the dish for MU, as he tallied a team-high five RBI. He was one of two Tigers to hit a home run in the victory, as well.
MU out-hit the Redhawks 12-5 and went 5-for-12 with runners in scoring position, while Tennessee Martin went 0-for-8, on Tuesday.
St. Elizabeth alum Brock Lucas earned the win on the hill for Mizzou, as he came in in relief for starter Daniel Wissler. Lucas struck out three batters and didn't allow a single run or hit through two innings.
In his start, Wissler struck out six batters and allowed three earned runs on four hits.
Up next - Mizzou will look to sweep UT Martin on Wednesday. The Tigers and the Redhawks will play at 3 p.m. at Taylor Stadium.
