Centralia girls fall short of state championship berth, set to play for third place

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Centralia girls basketball made history, on Friday evening, by playing the program's first-ever state final four, however, El Dorado Springs played spoiler. The Bulldogs came back in the fourth quarter for a 52-41.

Centralia led 32-26 heading into the final quarter of action, but El Dorado Springs turned on the afterburners and went on a 12-0 run over the course of four minutes to take a six point lead. The Panthers were never able to recover from that big run.

Freshman Ryenn Gordon scored the team-high 15 points in the semifinal match up.

Centralia will now play St. Pius X (Festus) for third place. Tip off is on Saturday at noon at Mizzou Arena.
