COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Athletics announced that Marcy Girton, the senior associate athletic director for football administration, will serve as the school's interim athletic director with the departure of former AD Desiree Reed-Francois.

Girton will bring more than 30 years of experience into the position. She once served as the chief operating officer of athletics at Auburn University and the University of South Carolina. In addition, she was a football sport administrator at both Auburn and Texas A&M.

Mizzou wished Reed-Francois well in her new role as athletic director at her alma mater, the University of Arizona.
