No. 7 Mizzou wrestling sweeps the Dakotas

BROOKINGS, S.D. (KMIZ)

No. 7 Mizzou wrestling came away with two wins in the trip up to the Dakotas. The Tigers topped No. 11 South Dakota State 21-19 on Sunday, just a couple of days after dominating North Dakota State University 32-6, on Friday.

Head coach Brian Smith and company handed South Dakota State just its second conference loss of the season, thanks to a clutch performance from redshirt senior Zach Elam. With the dual on the line, he picked up a pin in 33 seconds to capture MU a win.

Redshirt junior standout Noah Surtin opened up the dual in a pretty big way with a 10-point first period on his way to a 14-6 win at 125 pounds. Tolton alum Brock Mauller and Mizzou's reigning national champion Keegan O'Toole also notched wins in their bouts. O'Toole registered his fourth technical fall of the season.

The Tigers and the Jackrabbits split the dual with five matches each, with Tiger bonus points at 125, 165, and 285 making up the difference. Missouri capped off its weekend road trip with two dual victories whilst outscoring their opponents 53-25.
