Chiefs set for first road playoff game of Mahomes era
BUFFALO, N.Y. (KMIZ)
Kansas City's playoff fate was set in Buffalo, on Monday evening. The No. 2-seeded Bills knocked out the No. 7-seeded Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-17, in a snow-filled NFL Wild Card matchup at Highmark Stadium.
The Buffalo win will result in the first road playoff game of the Patrick Mahomes era in KC. The Bills and the No. 3-seeded Chiefs will kickoff the Divisional Round at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. central time.
Since Mahomes was named the starter for the Chiefs, he has led his team in 11 total playoff games. All of those happened within the familiar confines of Arrowhead Stadium.
Sunday's game will be another clash between two of the league's top quarterbacks: Mahomes and Buffalo's Josh Allen. KC's quarterback is 3-3 all time against Allen. One of those losses just came in the 2023 regular season, when the Bills came to Arrowhead Stadium and beat the Chiefs, 20-17, in Dec.
Kansas City advanced to the Divisional with a 26-7 win over the Miami Dolphins in the fourth-coldest game in NFL history, on Saturday.
