Mizzou’s Eli Drinkwitz lands two big time commitments
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz landed not one, but two commitments on the offensive side of the football, on Tuesday.
The Tigers now have the No. 25 ranked 2024 class, according to 247sports. It's the No. 23 class in the On3 rankings.
The first commitment of the day came from former Oklahoma offensive tackle Cayden Green. The No. 1 offensive line prospect in the transfer portal started in seven games as a true freshman with the Sooners. He will have three years of eligibility left to use in Columbia.
It's an important pick up for Coach Eli, as he will lose both Javon Foster and Xavier Delgado on that offensive line due to graduation. Green, a Lee's Summit native, was pursued by Mizzou out of high school, but has now decided to come home.
After Green, Drinkwitz got another commitment from four-star wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield. The Pine Bluff, Arkansas-native is the fifth four-star recruit to join the 2024 recruiting class. He picked MU over an offer from his hometown team, the Arkansas Razorbacks.
On Nov. 4, the receiver de-committed from Arkansas, as the program was in the midst of a change at offensive coordinator. Now he will take his talents to the rival state up north.
He finished his senior season with 930 yards receiving, along with 13 touchdowns. He's tallied more than 1,300 yards and 21 touchdowns in his varsity career.
