Rock Bridge volleyball alum Ella Swindle captured a national championship with her No. 2-seeded Texas Longhorns in her freshman season. Texas topped No. 1-seeded Nebraska, 3-0, on Sunday.

Swindle, one of two true freshmen setters in the title game, finished with 21 assists, two service aces and five kills in the victory. She's one of four true freshman setters in history to set her team to a national championship.

The title win capped off a standout debut season for the former Bruin. She was a consensus pick for the Big-12 All-Rookie team, as well.
