Mizzou football headed to Cotton Bowl to face Ohio State
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The No. 9 Mizzou football team has punched its ticket to the Cotton Bowl to face No. 7 Ohio State, on Friday, Dec. 29.
You can watch the full press conference with head coach Eli Drinkwitz, after the bowl announcement in the video player below.
It'll be MU's second Cotton Bowl appearance in less than a decade, as the program played in the Dallas-based bowl at the end of the 2013 season.
The Tigers have never missed out on a bowl game under coach Drinkwitz. This will be the program’s fourth-straight appearance. However, it is also the best bowl game MU has gotten since 2014, which is also the last time the program reached 10 wins.
The Cotton Bowl will be the cap to the best season that Drinkwitz has had in his time in Columbia. He and his team finished the regular season 10-2 overall and 6-2 in SEC play. MU’s only two losses came against Top-15 teams in Georgia and LSU. The Tigers were within 10 points in each of those two losses.

The Cotton Bowl will kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29 at AT&T Stadium.
