Mizzou’s Kaleb Brown will miss remainder of season with injury

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou guard Kaleb Brown will not play the remainder of the 2023-24 season, as Tiger hoops will redshirt him due to a stress reaction in his left shin.

Brown, the younger brother of first round NBA Draft pick Kobe Brown, had already missed a few games due to the injury. He played 13 total minutes this year, tallying two points and two rebounds.

Head coach Dennis Gates had high praise for Brown, coming out of the off season. He said he was, hands down, the most improved player.

“There was a chance he could have returned this year but in order to ensure his long-term development and eligibility, we thought it was important to avoid any risks and get back to 100 percent with his future as the top priority. We know that this will only be a small disruption in a great basketball career and look forward to him returning to full health at Mizzou," Gates said in a press release, on Tuesday.

The Tigers will continue the season on Wednesday, Nov. 22 against South Carolina State. Tip off is at 6 p.m.
