Royals drop fourth straight and get swept by Blue Jays

TORONTO, Canada. (KMIZ)

Three straight wild pitches from Kansas City pitcher Cole Ragans helped lift the Toronto Blue Jays to a 5-2 win against the Royals, which secured the series sweep on Sunday.

KC actually had a two-run lead headed into the sixth inning, however, Ragans got into a two-on jam. He threw wild pitches to both Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Davis Schneider, which tied the game. The Blue Jays followed up that big sixth inning by scoring in both the seventh and eighth innings, to get ahead 5-2.

Ragans let two earned runs go in five innings of work, while walking a career-high six batters. Taylor Clarke was charged with the loss on the hill, which dropped him to 2-5 on the year. He let an earned run go over his one inning of work.

With the loss, KC hit the 100-loss mark in 2023. The club has lost 12 out of its last 15 games.

Up next - Kansas City will make a trip to Chicago to face the White Sox. First pitch i sat 6:40 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11.
