One Mizzou football alum traded to the Eagles, another one waived
DENVER, Colo. (KMIZ)
Former Mizzou standout Albert Okwuegbunam is headed to Philadelphia. ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported that the Denver Broncos traded the tight end to the Eagles, along with a seventh-round 2025 draft pick in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick.
Okwuegbunam was originally drafted to Denver, as a fourth-round pick, in 2020. He did tear his ACL in his rookie season, but, in his years in Denver, still ended up with 54 receptions for 546 yards and four touchdowns.
He played in 14 games in 2021, then in just eight games in 2022. In the last season, he caught ten passes for 95 yards and one score.
His former Mizzou teammate Tyler Badie was also on the Broncos squad with Okwuegbunam, after Denver signed the running back off of the Ravens practice squad in December of 2022. However, the team waived Badie on Tuesday.
Badie was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2022. He only appeared in one game for the Broncos, where he had two touches.
