CHICAGO, Ill. (KMIZ)

After winning the series opener, the Kansas City Royals lost back to back games in Chicago as the Cubs secure the series victory.

In Sunday's finale, Kansas City put up a fight until the end scoring two ninth inning runs, but ultimately couldn't make the come back happen falling 4-3.

Jordan Lyles became the major leagues’ first 14-game loser as Kansas City fell for the fourth time in five games and dropped to 40-86.

Drew Waters, Maikel Garcia and Michael Massey all drove in a run each in the outing.

Up next - the road trip continues for the Royals as they make the trip to Oakland on Monday. The A's have the worst record in the MLB.
