Drinkwitz says Cook and Horn will both take snaps in week one
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Fall camp for the Mizzou football team came to a close Saturday evening with a open practice at Faurot Field. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz made the announcement after practice that returning starter Brady Cook and redshirt freshman Sam Horn will both take snaps during week one against South Dakota.
"In this day and age of college football, Ithink you could very easily see a couple different quarterbacks play in the first couple games and let the play on the field decide it," Drinkwitz said.
Drinkwitz said on Friday, they got a closer look at all quarterback options during some live action. During that time, Cook and Horn proved what they can do.
"Brady, when he's live and same thing with Sam there's a couple of plays that he extends and makes throws down field that he makes just because he's such a big body," Drinkwitz said. "We'll see both of them, I anticipate, in the first game and kind of play it from there."

During Saturday's press conference, Drinkwitz also confirmed that redshirt freshman safety Isaac Thompson will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery.
Also on the injury front, Chad Bailey is day to day with a soft tissue injury and could miss week one.
