Week two of Mizzou fall camp wraps up at Faurot
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Friday marked the end of week two of Mizzou as the team took to Faurot Field for practice, less than three weeks out from the first game.
The field had some renovations done in the offseason with the track surrounding the field now covered in turf.

Following Friday's practice, several players met with the media to talk about the first two weeks of camp.
"I feel like I'm more in shape and I'm comfortable playing in the SEC now," said wide receiver Mookie Cooper who chose to stay at Mizzou in the offseason. "I knew what we had coming back and I wanted to be apart of what's coming ."
With Dominic Lovett leaving in the offseason, there were concerns about the wide receiver room. That was until Oklahoma transfer Theo Wease decided to transfer to Mizzou. The 6-foot-2, 190 pound receiver adds a new element to the offense.
"He can move for his size, he's got some wiggle to him," Cooper said. "A lot of big guys be a little stiff, but he plays like one of the guys my size."
Not only will the offense be using Wease as a key element, but his skill is also benefitting the defenders that guard him through fall camp.
"Every other receiver in the SEC is Theo Wease basically," said defensive back Kris Abrams-Draine. "Everybody's got that speed and that size so it helps me get better."
Another key component on the young offense leading into the season is the offensive line. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz has said that eight to nine guys are currently battling to make the cut for the starting five.
"Iron sharpens iron, you know, there's always going to be competition at the end of the day. We have to establish who's the starting five and who's going to be the best five that we're going to put out on Saturday," said offensive lineman Xavier Delgado. "It's always good to have competition, it always pushes each other."
One starting role that isn't up for grabs is kicker. Although senior kicker Harrison Mevis is coming off of a shaky season making about 79% of field goals, he's coming back with a clear mindset.
"Really my mindset is set on the next kick, I'm not set on stats or anything like that. I'm just worried about helping the team win," said Mevis. "It just comes down to consistency."
Head coach Eli Drinkwitz is set to talk to the media on Saturday afternoon to recap week two of camp.
