BOSTON, Ma. (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Royals once again found themselves on the losing end of a road series after a shutout loss in the finale game secured the win for Boston.

The Red Sox had just one more hit than the Royals in Thursday's finale game, but still managed to walk away with a 2-0 victory.

Alec Marsh took the loss on the hill allowing two runs in five innings pitched. Austin Cox and Taylor Hearn combined for three scoreless frames on the hill.

Maikel Garcia was the only Royals with multiple hits on the day going 2-for-4.

Kansas City sits at 37-80 on the season, 23 games out of first place in the division.

Up next - the team returns home for the battle of I-70 against the St. Louis Cardinals Friday at 7:10 p.m.
