Royals go big over Mets for second-straight series sweep
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Kansas City Royals have found some much-needed momentum in the back half of the season. The team took down the New York Mets 9-2 on Thursday to mark their second-straight series win and sixth-straight victory.
Brady Singer was the leading force on the hill for KC throwing eight scoreless frames. Singer only gave up three hits in the eight innings pitched, while picking up four strikeouts. Jonathan Heasley came in for relief and gave up two runs in the ninth.
Drew Waters had a team-high three RBI's with a three-run home run in the seventh. Bobby Witt Jr. had another stellar performance at the plate going 3-for-4 with two runs brought in.
