Quarterback competition continues on day two of Mizzou fall camp
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
For the second-straight day of fall camp, the Mizzou football team was forced inside due to the rain. The Tigers continued work ahead of the 2023 season, as head coach Eli Drinkwitz and company will hope for the first opportunity get outside on Wednesday.
At the start of practice, Coach Drink named the players of the day, after day one of practice. Those guys led the team in stretches. The group included wide receiver Theo Wease Jr., defensive lineman Darius Robinson, offensive lineman EJ Ndoma-Ogar and wide receiver Daniel Blood.

The quarterback competition continues to heat up as returning starter Brady Cook, rising sophomore Sam Horn and Miami-transfer Jake Garcia were all back in action on Tuesday. Each QB had some good connections in day two.
The media got to observe the first nine periods of practice and saw quite a few connections between quarterbacks and wide receivers. All of those drills were solely with the offense, though. The media left before the offense and much-touted defense went head-to-head.
The attention will also turn to the other guys on the field with them. The offensive line has been an area of concern all off season, but Drinkwitz said he feels like he has some of the most depth he's ever had at that position this year. He spent quite a bit of time, at the start of practice, with the o-line and their new coach Brandon Jones.
Both offensive and defensive players have also praised the 2023 wide receiver room. It features some returning standouts in Luther Burden and Mookie Cooper, as well as some transfers in Theo Wease Jr. and Dannis Jackson.
Fall camp practices will continue on Wednesday.
