Mizzou football takes its turn at talkin’ time; SEC Media Days in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team took center stage in Nashville on Monday morning, as SEC Media Days kicked off. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz and players all took questions from both national and local media at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
The conversation widely centered around the impending quarterback competition. Drinkwitz will be deciding between last year's starter Brady Cook, rising sophomore Sam Horn and Miami-transfer Jake Garcia.
Coach Drink said it will be an open competition, but Cook will be taking the snaps with the ones on day one of fall camp.
"No different than any position on the field, there's nothing guaranteed," he said. "Everybody's got to battle for their positions."

Players did not want to give too much away, relating to that QB competition. The consensus was that all three are great guys and great competitors, but it isn't clear, yet, who will earn that starting spot.
Defensive lineman Darius Robinson, cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine and offensive lineman Javon Foster represented the Tigers in Nashville. Abrams-Draine and Robinson expressed quite a bit of excitement about the 2023 defense, with quite a few returning starters.
The goal for the group is to be the best defense in college football.
"We're just trying to get better everyday," Robinson said. "I think the thing is we talk about it a lot, but everyday is competition...that's one thing is just not getting comfortable and just really wanting to work everyday."

Another goal for the entire MU team is turning the corner past being a .500 program in the Southeastern Conference. Everyone at Media Days said the team motto is: "something to prove."
