Former Mizzou hooper DeMarre Carroll joins Lakers coaching staff

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Former Mizzou basketball player DeMarre Carroll was appointed as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.

Carroll spent last season as an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks after finishing an 11-year playing career in 2019-20 with the Houston Rockets.

During his collegiate career, Carroll was on the court for one season at MU being named the 2008 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and helping to lead the team to an Elite Eight appearance.

Carroll will be an assistant coach over another former Tiger, D'Moi Hodge, who signed a two-way contract with LA this offseason to start his NBA career.
