ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado was elected to his fifth start in the upcoming 2023 All-Star game.

After a slow start to the season, Arenado caught fire in the last month and a half. At the midway point in the season, Arenado is batting .273 with 16 home runs. This marks his eighth appearance in the All-Star game.

Arenado is the only Cardinal that has been named a starter on the National League team.

The pitchers and reserves will be announced Sunday, July 2, during the All-Star Selection Show.
