A’s beat Renegades in the battle of the top seeds

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Clarinda A's took down the Jefferson City Renegades 9-5 on Monday night in the battle of the top seeds in the MINK league. Jefferson City claimed the first matchup between the two on Sunday 11-5.

In Monday night's game, the Renegades scored first with a solo home run from Chase Haner in the third inning followed by another run brought home by Eli Hill.

The A's battled from behind to put together three runs each in the fifth, seventh and ninth innings. Nick Massarini drove in two runs on the day.

On the mound for JC, Boonville's Cade Schupp had the start allowing three runs in just over five innings pitched, while picking up four strikeouts.

Jefferson City is now 15-12 on the season, they remain in first place in the South. Clarinda stays in first in the North with a 15-6 record.

Up next, the Renegades will host the St. Joseph Mustangs at Ernie Vivion Field Wednesday at 7 p.m.
