St. Louis swept in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (KMIZ)
The Pittsburgh Pirates completed a three-game sweep against the St. Louis Cardinals with a 2-1 win on Sunday morning at PNC Park.
The red birds have gone 2-6 through the club's last eight games, in the form of a series sweep from the Pirates, a split series with Kansas City and a series loss to Cleveland.
St. Louis mustered just five hits in a tough offensive outing in Pittsburgh. Andrew Knizer was the lone scorer, with a solo home run in the seventh inning.
Miles Mikolas is charged with the loss on the hill. He threw for five innings, allowing two runs on 10 hits. He also tallied two strikeouts. Genesis Cabrera and Jordan Hicks both pitched solid relief for STL, as they collectively allowed no runs and no hits.
Up next - St. Louis will continue its road trip with a flight to meet the Texas Rangers on Monday, June 6. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Globe Life Field.
