Tolton headed to state championship with a shutout win in the semifinals

FENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Tolton girls soccer team is headed to the Class 1 state championship. The Trailblazers shutout Bishop LeBlond in a 1-0 semifinal win on Friday at Soccer Park in St. Louis.

The last time the Blazers were in a state title game was in 2015, when the team fell just short with a second place finish. Tolton is sill in search of the first state championship in program history.

Head coach Chuck Register and company will have to get through one more opponent to lift up that trophy, though. Tolton will face Villa Duchesne in the title game at 11 a.m. at Soccer Park.

The Blazers' semifinal win came on the back of a shutout from goalkeeper Rachel Tipton and also one, lone goal from standout Macie Parmer.
