South Callaway finishes second in Class 3 after a 3-1 title loss to Licking

OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

The South Callaway baseball team had their best finish since 2017, finishing the year in second place in Class 3 after a 3-1 loss in to Licking in Thursday's state title game.

The Bulldogs got down early with three Wildcats run scored in the second inning. During the second, South Callaway got into a jam with two errors at short stop and two walks, including one run being walked in.

South Callaway showed some fight in the bottom of the fourth inning with a leadoff single from Tucker Jones and an RBI single from senior Braden Allen. The Bulldogs overall outhit the Wildcats 5-3 on the day.

Senior Jacob Martin had a stellar performance in the circle in his final outing for South Callaway. Martin threw a complete game allowing just three hits on three runs and picking up two strikeouts.

South Callaway ends the year 24-8 losing three seniors Martin, Allen and JT Thomas.
