Mizzou’s Trevor Austin to hit the transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou infielder Trevor Austin is set to enter the transfer portal, a team spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday night. The news comes just three days after MU Athletics fired head coach Steve Bieser.

The Helias alum led the Tiger attack at the plate in 2023. Through his junior season, he registered 36 RBI and eight home runs on a team-high .312 batting average.

The Jefferson City native has spent all three years of his collegiate career in Columbia. He didn't play much his freshman season, however, in 2022, he started in 40 games. Austin hit six home runs and 22 RBI in that season, which led up to his breakout junior year.

The Tigers finished with a 30-24 overall record in 2023, going 10-20 in SEC play. Austin is the first Mizzou player to hit the transfer portal since Bieser was fired on Sunday.
